De Facto Grass Masters

Since grass is never going to get a Masters in the foreseeable future (let's face it), can we all as members of the tennis community just agree that, for all intents and purposes, Queens and Halle are de facto Masters 1000s? Wouldn't a rose by any other name smell as sweet?

Sure this is part tongue in cheek, but I really feel like those two tournaments should basically carry as much weight as other Masters tournaments when we're comparing career achievements, etc. Can't it just be like an unwritten rule within the tennis community? Ultimately we are the ones who make the rules. At least when it comes to determining a player's legacy.

So here's to grasping at straws...who's with me?!

And most importantly, there cannot be two Masters at the same time. It’s just not comparable then. I would like to see both tournaments as Masters, but as you say, all important players must play both then.

There is one solution

Make Cincinnati a grass tournament.

Make FO a grass tournament. Proper surface finally! FO's management isn't really on major level, so trash it down to M1000.

Halle will replace the FO as second major of the year.
