Do they use stock racquets or customized or paintjob racquet

Hi all,

I've checked some racquets Pros are using carefully.
Serena W's H6 seems to have 18 mains, not 16 as stock H6 has.
Bryan brothers' Surges seem a little bit different from my Surge 5.1. Again 18 mains and the throat part doesn't seem that round. Are these pros using customized or paintjob racquets?

Some are and some aren't.

Majority use custom frames or paintjobs, I think the only people who don't use paintjobs are those using Babolat's, in which they just add a whole bunch of lead tape, but they at least use the racquet.

When I was 10 I used a 33oz bat. Mark McGuire used the same weight bat to beat Roger Maris' record in 1998. Babe Ruth used a 48oz bat. Serena really does use a 9.7 oz racquet unlike Maureen Conolly's 14 oz. stick of 1953, they just customize the string pattern for Serena.
Taste in weight changes, for better or worse, in this case who knows.

I doubt you could swing a 33 oz. bat when you were 10-not REALLY swing it-unless you were a very BIG 10-year old. As I recall, Little League regulations limit bat weight to 30 oz. Maybe you were already in the Big Leagues at 10? Doesn't surprise me, with the amazing achievments of TW Board members piling up all the time.
