You deserved to lose just because of your partner's tights/shorts combo.

Nice playing, thanks for sharing. Is the lefty Sam Behbehani?

I hate that court.
I played at SPP for 10 years and never played that court until Matt L showed up.
My eyes don't filter out the glare.
Now you tell me ...

Repoarted for prejudice against pizzaz

Nice playing to who? Not much playing going on.
Is the lefty Sam?
No, but they lost in the finals to this combo.

Ouch, that did look like a beatdown.

We have a Master's tournament at our club that is divided into age categories. I play with a 3.5 buddy and we are first round fodder every year to some 9.0-9.5 team. One year we played against a former futures player that had put on some weight but still had a howitzer for a FH and serve. That looked similar to this match.

You don't have to rub it in, but got a good tight 3 setter (lost) in the consolation draw so all was well.

@Papa Mango
It looked like you and your partner really struggled to even get the returns in play.
You should have tried playing both at the baseline during returns and just lob and anything to get it back in the court. Deep lob would be good. With both players at the baseline you have a chance of returning the overhead.

Overall they just looked too good, but trying various tactics/gimmicks might have gotten you a point or two more here and there.

Don't think that would have made even an iota of a difference as you can tell we were struggling to get a clean contact on the returns. I for one could not read the lefty serve at all and the right had too much pace. I think there is one lefty kick which I muffed by about 5 feet or so. But agree, should have tried something different.

Too bamboozled by the bullets whizzing by.

Regardless of results I’m sure your buddy doesn’t mind playing down with you - teaming up with friends is the main attraction of age bracket tournaments

Might have kept you in the points when the return did make it over the net but the opposing net guy crushed it for a clean winner by the net guy.

We actually won the consolation side one year so that was fun. Had to beat a couple solid 8.0 teams to do so. My friend played some of his best tennis ever.

Bad demo. Hit with a demo for five minutes was not for me but decided to give it a fair shake so hit with it for 2 hours.
Elbow shattered next day. Sad indeed :(
You are Thor.. I bow before you and your 2X4!
