With all this political mumbo-jumbo going on here at the boards I thought we needed a topic to lighten the mood up......

Christmas is coming up and I typically purchase a gaming system {although I'm a couple years behind, I'm still playing, and loving, my Dreamcast}...not for my kid, for me :D Hey it's winter, what else ya gonna do?

I'm just wondering what your favorite one of the bunch is.

Around my area it seems that you can get:

Gamecube for $100 with Mario Kart game and 1 controller

X-Box for $150 with 2 controllers, NCAA Football 2005, and Topspin Tennis

Playstation 2 for $150 with 1 controller and no games.

I think the new Gamebody system is due out soon and will run $150.

xbox, by far, is superior. the only knock on it for a while was the fact that there weren't too many games out for it, and there were a ton for playstation 2. but now xbox box has the games and is just a higher quality machine.

I have both Xbox and ps2 so I like them both. This goes for my computers of choices. I use both PC and Macs as well as Linux on my PC. ;) Better to know all than just one in my opinion. :)

The best video game companies will be found with the PS2. XBox has some sort of Japan-phobia when it comes to recruiting the best game designers and it shows with their medicore selection.

In regards to tennis, "Mario Power Tennis" for Gamecube looks extremely fun. But XBox's "Topspin" is a proven winner (especially in mulitplayer).

IMO, the PS@ has the best tennis game (Smash Court Tennis Pro Tournament 2). I've played Top Spin, but Smash Court is much more realistic.

PS2 hands down for a lot of different reasons. Well, first, I believe it was released two years ahead of GameCube AND XBox which makes it "older" technology yet it's still able to hang with them. Because of how old it is, it has a lot more games out thus far. Their game selection is also not geared too much towards one type of person and they have games that are on the top of the charts in every category, especially racing with Gran Turismo 4 about to be released! I can't wait for that one :D GameCube is geared way too much towards younger people, or it seems that way to me, anyways, and I didn't find anything that great on XBox except for maybe Halo and the recently released Halo 2. I could go on, but eh, the others votes indicate they favor PS2 =D

I'm selling my PS2 and getting an XBOX this weekend for Halo 2 and XBL.

Don't forget the Xbox comes with two months of xbox live.

**edit** Are you sure it comes with two controllers??

Get the PS2 or Xbox. The PS2 has the best selection of games including Smash Court Pro Tournament 2 which is very good.

Xbox is good for playing online and its very good to be playing against poeople who can give you a challenge, Halo 1 and 2 are also amazing games.

Decisions, decisions hey?

perfmode....you are correct. I had it on my voice memo in my phone with 1 controller but somehow got it in my mind that it had two when I put the post up. Thanks.
