Forget it. It's not going back more than one week tops. Running the tournament in march would be to much of a hassle for melburnians. I guess federer would enjoy playing with no crowd or ballkids..

Since this is the summer, when is summer vacation over in Australia. Perhaps if they moved the tourney to Feb instead of Jan. There is such a huge gap between the AO and the French, why couldn't it be moved a few weeks?

Logistics. No one who lives and works in melbourne would agree with your suggestion. Just not going to happen.

in january its right in the middle of summer, and thats when everyone's on holiday...schools are on holiday, and thats just the best time for everyone to go see the AO...

at most they could move it 1 week meaning last week of january and into the first week of february, but i honestly think some players complain too much about the season, and that in the 90s this topic didnt really come up

tennis becoming more physical is a argument, but cmon, tennis isnt about being a physical sport...if at most, i would get rid of the masters series tournament paris, and put the TMC in its place, meaning basically all of november and december is off, and then you choose if you want to play warm up events before the AO
