Federer fans, what would you prefer Federer winning?

1. Rome Masters + Monte Carlo Masters
or
2. World Tour Finals

I know both are unlikely, but this is just a hypothetical question. Would you rather Federer finish the Masters set, and surpass Lendl's tally of Masters title, or win a record-extending 7th WTF, which will be very hard to match or best?

Vote, please :)

I think Rome & MC would be a better accomplishment for him now. He's already been there done that at WTF so many times (6!!).
Otherwise, any big title for him is a frosting now.

Djokovic might challenge Federer's WTF record, so that makes a 7th WTF important. But I guess Rome+MC would make his resume pretty much complete.

I think Federer's resume is pretty much complete as it is. We fans try to look into too much excruciating details. 2 more Masters titles won't make much of a difference to Fed's CV.
But yea, since he's come close so many times at MC & Rome but lost in the finals, winning them may bring something new to his table. Anyways he ain't losing any nap over them.

I think the WTF is still possible. He's still the 2nd best indoors player and the faster courts are always prone to more upsets so the chance of someone upsetting Nole or himself doing it in a 2/3 environment are doable.

I see 0 chance for him to win both Rome AND MC with Nadal and Djokovic both around being very consistent and strong on clay. Maybe he could get a lucky break to win one of them, but not both.

Rome and Monte Carlo. He has had a lot of losses their in finals, so it would be nice to see him finally get them. He doesn't need another WTF trophy. Everytime he wins a big title (GS, WTF) he needs to space his most important trophies closer and closer on the top shelf of his cabinet, which is just a hassle in itself...

I wasn't asking for his chances at doing them. His winning Rome+MC is close to impossible. I was asking which would be better.

Well if the chances of one are reasonable and the chances of the other are close to impossible, and its debatable which would be a better accomplishment in a vacuum clearly the better accomplishment would be the one that is tougher to pull of isn't it?

Not necessarily. Some people couldn't care less for Masters, and see them as tuneups. Even Federer cared little for them during his peak, as evidenced by his skipping 9 Masters in 2004-2006.

Do you remember how he was able to skip these compulsory events so much? I don't remember him being injured or sick that often. Monte Carlo was compulsory back then along with the other 8.

This is a tough question now that Djokovic is at 3 YEC titles. Obviously, it would be better to have the record number of YEC titles than to have all 9 masters series titles. However, if his YEC record were theoretically safe, I'd pick Monte Carlo and Rome.

As it is, though, give me another YEC.

I don't really remember. I guess he just didn't care, and did what he had to do to peak at the Slams. And when you're Roger Federer, there's not much the ATP can do to you.

WTF of course. It's higher tier event. I don't see how two extra masters make any difference for anyone.

But he would be extra dominant with 2 WTF titles away from the record. That is huge for a 2nd tier event with toughest competition. That makes him ultra goat.

People don't care about masters much. I mean Agassi had the record vs Sampras. But didn't make any difference.
