Yeah I hate the fanaticism when countries make stamps, coins or name streets in the name of their most famous people.
I mean what kind of morons do that?
Honouring the people who represent your country in front of the rest of the world?
What utter stupidity! Heathen stuff really.

Djoker should start paying his taxes in his country. As far as I know, Switzerland is tax free so no taxes are due from Fedr.

Being sarcastic doesn't mean you said something smart.
Back up a little and think of all sport icons around the world through history, and how many of them have their faces of national currency. If there are such, which countries did that ?

It might but being salty one definitely has lesser probability of saying something smart.
Just like what you said was totally bereft of reason.
It is not by definition fanaticism(which is what you were calling it), regardless of whether it had been done before or not.
But if you want the facts I only found two other instances of sportspersons on banknotes.
It means a country honouring their citizen and nothing else. It is on that country to decide who to honor.
Politicians, artists, sportspersons are all in the realms of possibility of people who can be honoured.
For me it means nothing that he was honoured, I am not much for tradition. But you saying that it is fanaticism is nothing more than a salt mine overflowing.

Well not exactly. My point are ppl who are infesting these boards with talks that Djokovic is popular only in Serbia, that he is somekind of deity there and that he will become president of Serbia. That is very far from truth, and it might suggests that Novak's homeland is filled with brainless idiots, another try to downgrade Novak's public image anyway.
Second thing was fanaticism. It portrays who has fanatics and who doesn't. Bank note is something not to be given to famous athletes. Even placing actors would be a bit tacky, and in my world great actors worth little bit more than athletes.
Writers, scientists, humanitarians, Nobel prize winners, but not ppl from entertainment industry.
