Federer or Nadal will be the next to win THE GRAND SLAM???

If there are some unfamiliary with the term...
In tennis, a singles player or doubles team is said to have achieved the Grand Slam if they succeed in winning all four of the following championship titles in the same year: Australian Open, French Open, US Open, Wimbledon.

True Grand Slam - Singles
Don Budge [1938]
Maureen Connolly [1953]
Rod Laver [1962 • 1969]
Margaret Smith Court [1970]
Steffi Graf [1988]

Nadal or Federer???

are u kidding? nadal can't reasonably have a shot at wimbledon for a really long time, while federer has a reasonable shot at RG right now. considering hes won OZ, and it seems like hes got Wimbledon and US in the bag, he really has to win only RG to win it, even this year. if you go by virtue of this year alone, the only player able to win the GS wud be federer, since hes the only one to hole the Australian title.

If Fed win at France this summer, he will have 4 consecutive Slams. Does it count?
It counts as...four Grand Slam tournaments consecutively.

Winners of all four Grand Slam tournaments consecutively, but not in a single calendar year:
Singles:
Martina Navrátilová (1983-84) (six consecutive tournaments)
Note: The Australian Open was held in December from 1977 through 1985, returning to its original January date in 1987. Her streak was Wimbledon, US, and Australian in 1983, followed by French, Wimbledon, and US in 1984.
Steffi Graf (1993-94)
Note: Graf also won a True Grand Slam in 1988.
Serena Williams (2002-03)
Note: Also referred to as the "Serena Slam".
Doubles:
Gigi Fernandez & Natasha Zvereva (1992-93) (six consecutive titles from French Open '92 to Wimbledon '93.)

Neither one. Nadal wins French, Federer wins Wimby. Even if Nadal does not show up for French Open oen of the baseliners wins. Federer won't win Roland Garros. End of arguement>

Federer is clearly the best behind Nadal on clay. If Nadal didn't show, I'd say you have a pretty damn good case for Federer winning the Slam this year. Federer becomes a huge favorite if Nadal is somehow not in the draw.

Nadal will never win Wimby or USO. He has a small shot at the Australian. Fed on the other hand is almost a sure bet for Wimbledon, and heavy for the others, so I'd say he has a much better chance.
