Okay we all know Federer is dominating tennis right now and may dominate tennis for the next few years.. But I think his over confidence is going to be his downfall. Every opponent he's lost to is because he didn't think much about them.

You think he thought much about Nadal, Gasquet, or Berdych(sp?) when he lost to them?..

Now hearing that he fears no body and that he's #1 for a reason... Also heard him answer some reporting saying he doesn't need any tests.. no one setter, no 5 setter, no long match, no short match, etc.. Man fed was being annoying to a reporter just asking him a simple question.

Welcome newbie poster.. Show me what my understanding of competitive tennis has anything to do with my tennis game. I have far better understanding of pro tennis than you have, I assure you. I watch almost every match that is televised and keep track of up and commers. Show me exactly how I can't be a good club player lol... All my comments are reflected to Federer's arrogance, interviews, and sportsmanship.. that has nothing to do with the actual game of tennis, which I've been a loyal student of..

There is no such thing as a guy who is too confident and the #1 player in the world. I am sure he is a very confident guy, his rank prize money and past success proves this.....by way, who is this new guy who has a problem with what people are posting? What do you think these message boards are for and why did you join it? If you don't like what people are discussing leave the boards.

Possibly, but its also the source of his greatest strength. How many times do we see him go for tough shots at key points his matches? How many times do we see him go for aces when he’s down break point? A lot-and he usually makes those big shots.

I don't know about "overconfidence".

All I know is that he believes in himself and his abilities, and because of that he wins. Tennis is a mental game, doubting yourself makes you f*** up.

Actually, it turns out that you can ignore people. I found this feature a few weeks ago and it has made my experience on this board much more pleasant.

To ignore a poster, simply click on that poster's profile. There is an option on the profile page to "Ignore".

I think some people post just to get a rise out of others. If everyone would stop replying it might get these repeat offenders to settle down a little and bring a some class back to this board.

Your faith in Nadal and Gasquet is yours. Everything that has transpired has done so according to my design. Your friend Nadal is walking into a trap. As is Gasquet, Safin and all the rest! It was I who allowed Nadal to win Monte Carlo and Rome. I am quite safe from his pitiful baseline game. An entire fullcourt arsenal awaits him in the semis.
