2 quick questions:

1) what string and tension did you guys use, esp. with the Tour?

2) Where's Granville?

Looking at the design, it seems to me like the cupping effect would only happen if the ball was hit directly in the middle of the racquet where the dimples are. If the ball landed higher or lower, the frame would not flex with the cuppling effect. I am off in my theory. Should there be more dimples to cover more of the areas? Then that would compromise the structure of the racquet....

With my Flexpoint Radical Tour MP I first had it strung with 17 gauge Wilson sensation @ 57lbs. Felt great at first but after a few games I lost tension and it started to suck. So I restrung with same kind of strings at 60lbs. It gave me more spin and much more control.

I have mine strung at 58 with BB alu power, it is too soft i might go for 63 next time withmaybe a synthetic like stamina

I strung my TOUR's at 60, so far so good. Will try a hybrid next time.

I have one strung with Babolat Xcel and another with NXT--both at 60. I like the Xcel best so far.

Sounds like a felxier PSC 6.1, or HPS 6.1, esp. with the higher string tensions you guys are mentioning. 63 w/multi was always about right with the 6.1, with the FPTour, sounds like 60 is close to the magic number so far.

But TW, where was Granville for this playtest?? Always a radical fan, and an ex-prostaff user, this seems like the kind of stick he'd have good feedback on.

As one of the more classic ball strikers of the group, I'm sure I'm not the only one who's come to look forward to Granville's pov, esp. for this type of frame...

My tour fp is strung with gut at 60, but I'm definitely going up next time -- probably to 63 or 65.

Granville and the other reviewers rated the previous LM Rad MP in 2003, with an overall combined score came in at 83. Here the FP Rad gets 79. I didn't find the review a convincing one, convincing enough to switch anyway. A softer feel sounds more arm-friendly but aren't the Rads soft enough (for a reasonably stiff frame)? I don't see how that feel should get any softer, they're already smooth as.

Comparable to a 200g on serve apparently - have to admit that I find that surprising to say the least - the 200g was blistering-fast through the serve swing and responsive on contact. With the FP Head hoop flexing so much would it be as responsive?

how'd the tour play for you guys? Anyone try the tour with the FXP string?
