ive never had this problem until i switched to a leather grip so should i add some lead to the top of my racket? It feels like when i hit the ball i just go into the back of it and dont get a nice good plow through so should i?

Assuming you even have a problem, trust me, it isn't caused by a leather grip. How high over the net are you aiming?

When I am mishitting, make sure I am bending my knees and leading with the butt end of the racquet. You have to come up on the ball to get that lift you want.
