Back after 5 years. In the meanwhile, she studied English at UBC and rowed for them.

What her ranking now?

http://www.itftennis.com/procircuit/players/player/profile.aspx?PlayerID=100060292

Look her up and she has no ranking yet, so she is just starting out! She did make it through the 3 rounds of qualifying to get into the main 32 draw of a $15K ITF tournament in Antalya, Turkey. If she can win her first round and goes on to the second round, I believe she will get "one" ranking point which will get her a rank of around 1,700 in the world.

Most players usually have to try between 5-30 matches in break through to get on the ITF Futures ranking computer system!

Cool! This will be a fun follow. It would be great if she could get up to or surpass her previous heights.

The funny thing is she is entered as a Q in 3 tourneys on consecutive weeks at Antalya, which seems to have a production line of such.
I wonder what happens with the 2nd one, next week, as she's not in the Q table any more. Have they promoted her to MD based on her results this week?
Has she retired from it because of still being involved in the 1st?

Maybe she got a special exemption into the main draw.

This is brilliant. Best of luck and good to see her back.

Fair enough to give her a wild card. Probably not available for qualifying if she was in the previous final.

Go Rebecca!!
I love this woman. She is so courageous to come back after all of this time. And, she has so much talent.
I'll be cheering for her.

OK, this is a great story and all, but I think courageous is overdoing it just a bit.

Sorry, but there are very few situations in sports where it's actually courage that is needed. Frankly it cheapens the situations in real life where you actually need courage. If she loses a tennis match, what does she really lose? It's sports.

Again, it's great to see her doing well, but it's not a courageous effort she's putting forth.

I agree that the word can be misused and overused, especially in sports, but in this case it would seem to apply. She quit because of stress and mental issues much as Mardy Fish did. Facing mental issues and seeking help requires courage.

Agree. And not just facing the issues and seeking help, but to come back into the public light (that originally contributed to the problem) with everyone watching....knowing your background.

Never heard of her before but reading through this thread I kept expecting her to have lost a match and she's won them all!

Not bad at all.
