From Radical MP to Pure strike... 16x19 or 18x20?

Who's had the chance of testing both patterns in the 305g Pure Strike?

I've always wanted a slightly more open pattern in my Radicals or Prestige, and the 16x19 pattern of the Strike is denser than usual for a 16x19, so it seems exactly what I'm looking for. But I'm curious to know what are the differences between the two versions of the Pure Strike (I'm not including the Tour cause it's heavier than what I can handle). Which one do you prefer and why? Thanks.

NOT harassing you, because I have 13 racket's I rotate thru, 7 different models and brands.
AGAIN? So you're trading up to more stiffness? Why not just get a Head Speed MP and be done with it, and get a pair of shoes too.
All fewer strings will do is to feel like you strung it 3 lbs softer.
All more strings do is feel like you strung it 3 lbs stiffer.
Obsess all you want in your search for the holy grail, it doesn't exist, even in your mind.
You dweebs will now come on and talk about "launch angle" BS. I switch from 97 18x20 directly to 100 16x18 and it makes not enough difference to even need ONE acclimation swing.

You should consider the Tour version, as well, if you can play with the Graphene Prestige MP.

Which Radical? The Graphene Radical MP isn't much different from the Pure Strike 16x19.

I played mostly with the IG Radical MP, and the IG / Microgel Prestige MP. But my IG Prestige was an off-specs, 20g lighter. The ''normal'' is a bit heavy for me, though the Microgel swings easy enough.

If you have not hit the Graphene Radical MP and are interested in the Pure Strike, you should definitely give the GRadMP a hit. It is a fantastic racket and better than the PS16x19 IMO.

OK. I see. I just prefer the heavier frames for the stability and plow. I like to exchange ground strokes and rarely come to the net.

I guess it all depends on your playing style, but I think the Strike line of frames take a bit of time to adjust to the racket. I honestly feel that the Pure Control Tour was much easier to play all-around game with than the Strike rackets. Since you are used to the player's frames already, have you considered the Pure Control line of frames? I played with both the 95+ and the Tour version, and they are nice sticks.

Yes, I thought - and am still thinking - about the Pure Control Tour. I have both Pure Strikes in front of me (16x19 and 18x20) and the 18x20 feels way more sluggish. At this rate I prefer to keep my IG Prestige MP

Have you played with both the IG Prestige MP and Pure control Tour? I'm curious about power and control differences. Maneuverability also. Thanks.

Haha! I know... sorry about that. The differences are so subtle anyway, I guess I'll stick with my Prestige MPs. It's just annoying not to be able to get a second matched frame. Maybe I'll look for a used Microgel, play with them and leave you guys alone :)

Yes. I think they both are quite similar, but the Pure Control Tour has a bit more pop and power. They both offer very good control. I am honestly a bit surprised that there isn't a bigger following for the Pure Control Tour. I find it to be very comparable to the Ezone AI 98, but I like the overall play of the Pure Control Tour a bit more. You should give it a try and demo.

They are both on the flexible side, so the feel is quite nice also. I'm finding that the Pure Control Tour is even more forgiving than the newer Graphene Prestige MP.

I used to play with the IG Prestige MP but moved onto the Pure Strike Tour, which is still my racket of choice. It took me about two weeks to get used to the racket, which I almost gave up after the initial play, but in the end, no other racket has improved my power game as much as the Pure Strike Tour. But you are correct in that it did feel very sluggish at first.

ha ha, funny thing happenned to me on the way to the forum .....
A me me story.
I like Aero500's weighted to 11.5 oz, 325SW's, strung around 35 lbs. for my best tennis.
I played Volleynets with a new to me F5T strung at 58 lbs. Got to tiebreaker, strained my foot on changeover.
Last week, I played a tough but not big hitting 4.0 and lost 3-6 (tiebreaker second set). Using a Bio300T.
Today, using a weaker hitting racket, and going for more shots, same guy, he got 3 and 1. 4DAero300 with 16" of 1/2 lead under the buttcap, TWO year old strings, STB16 at 47 lbs then, now maybe 42 lbs.
Nothing to do with which racket I play with, everything to do with the idiot pilot guiding my various rackets.
