Ghost Wire, Ice Code, or Gosen Micro as a cross?

Going to compare my current favorite string, full bed of Kirschbaum Pro Line Evolution 1.25mm, to my old standard of Solinco Tour Bite 1.20mm mains in a hybrid.

For anyone who has tried Tier One Ghost Wire (1.22), Tecnifibre Ice Code (1.20), or Gosen OG Sheep Micro (1.22mm) as a cross in a hybrid (not necessarily with Tour Bite), how did it work out for you?

Thanks!

Have tried all three as crosses, though I use OGSM 18. Here are where I would say that each of the three shine in terms of what they add to your main stringbed.

OGSM 1.15: Softest, crisp, easy to weave, inexpensive. Great for adding liveliness to a stringbed, with the downside of being the least durable of the three crosses.
Ghostwire 1.22: Plush, comfortable, extremely slick. Choose if you want to add more spin potential. More muted than Ice Code / OGSM
Ice Code 1.20: Firm, controlled, responsive. Definitely the most feedback of the three. I would suggest this for players looking to add feel or improve their ability to make touch shots.

Given the excellent tension maintenance and low cost of Pro Line Evo, I'd probably lean towards OGSM if you are self-stringing. If you are paying a pro-shop, may as well ball out and buy Ice Code

I appreciate the detailed comparison of the three...that was a great help!

I pay someone to string my racquets. Never really even took a look at the price: $10 vs $15 vs $4.

Back in the day Tour Bite/Gosen was always my go to in my Prince Original Graphite 93. Maybe I'll start there...heck, if it holds up in a 14x18 pattern surely it will hold up in my Prince Phantom Pro 100.

Again, thanks for the help!

Thanks for the comments, looking for a new cross so may try ice code. I view things the opposite, since I string myself I don't mind spending some of the money I'm saving on the more expensive strings.

Since my current favorite set up is a full bed of Kirschbaum PL Evolution 1.25mm, would it be crazy to try the Evolution as a cross with Tour Bite mains?

Appreciate your input!

Not at all. The hybrid will play closer to fullbed Tour Bite in terms of launch angle, power and response, but there will be some elements of the PL Evolution. It's a great way to get qualities you like from two strings, and Tour Bite mains with EVO crosses is going to do substantially better than evo mains / tour bite crosses.

Ghost Wire is a good cross. It moves a bit even when strung tight, but it is a good cross in my opinion.
