Just finished watching the doubles final and couldn't be happier.

It was also great to see some doubles being televised!

I am, too. I hope Bob and Venus can win their final, too. I've been watching their matches on Wimbledon Live. It's been a great week for the Bryans. And their blog has been terrific.

Congrats to the Bryan Bros on their Grand Slam. The U.S. actually did something at Wimbledon, despite the rest of them tanking early on.:D

The Bryans must be some of the most unappreciated athletes in the U.S. So many articles bemoaning the state of American tennis and I haven't seen one that even mentions the Bros....

Mary Carillo was positive the Mixed doubles team of Bob Bryan, Venus would win the mixed doubles. They lost to Andy Ram and Vera Zvonereva 3-6, 2-6. Well, at least USA won one title and NBC showed the entire match.

I loved it. The Bryans play doubles the way it ought to be played. They are head-and-shoulders above the rest. Zimonjik, for example, failed to switch when his partner crossed to poach. There's no excuse for that in professional doubles. Club players should know better.

Often, doubles "teams" are just two singles players on the same end of the court, or one spectator and one player on the same end of the court. But the Bryans make it look easy, because they are BOTH always where they belong and doing what they should be doing. They front the opponent's shot when they can and thus EARN opportunities to poach. They understand this game.

What a pleasure to watch. If you like doubles, get a tape and analyze what they're doing -- every move they make.

Did you watch the match, pound cat?

If you didn't, and you could have per Wimbledon Live, it was a great display of tennis by Zvonereva.

She was the key to that win. It will be interesting to see if Bob mentions that in his blog. :D

Well done to Bob and Venus for getting to the finals.

Kudos to the Bryan Bros, only the 3rd team to win a career grand slam (Jacco Eltingh and Paul Haarhuis and the Woodies). Wuite an achievement. 7 straight GS finals.

Vamos,

You are correct, Zvonereva was the key to that match. She was playing great. Besides, nice b**b's.

Venus looked like she just wanted to get the match over and go home. Did you guys see that attempt at the chest pounce (or whatever they call it). That was funny and cool.

Way to go Bryan brothers, that was a great match.
