nice multi-surface performance... bien joué richard !!!rhubarb said:Gstaad is usually best of five. Gasquet wins in four sets, 7-6, 6-7, 6-3 6-3. Currently holds grass and clay titles - only man currently doing this at ATP level iirc.
Ditto! Good win for him and I hope he has some good draws in the upcoming Masters - plz no Fed in the first or 2nd round...vive le beau jeu ! said:nice multi-surface performance... bien joué richard !!!
since RG, he only lost (twice) to roger...
this win is great for his confidence, and that's what his flashy game needed !
lol that made me laugh. You don't know much about his game, do you?!TacoBellBorderBowl1946 said:he should be lucky to be inside the top 100, he has no game besides his backhand.

hey Mr. Ignorant, did you check last year ?TacoBellBorderBowl1946 said:sure do mate, enough to know he can't beat anyone good

two titles against wannabe players.... best wins against Bjorkman and Gaudio.
Wow, he's really good. Look at the rest of his results against the REAL competition.
1-3 in slams, only win against Wang
You make me laugh, you obviously don't know about his game.

Last time I checked Gasquet had 3 titles: 2 Nottinghams (beating Mirny and Björkman in the finals) and 1 Gstaad and 2 finals including the ATP Masters in Hamburg which he lost in close 3 sets against Federer!TacoBellBorderBowl1946 said:wow, a Davis Cup win against Haas a win against a guy that can't even crack the top 20 he's really good......
And yes I checked last year, last time I checked he only had one title, Notthingham against players that can barely qualify in slams.
Wonder what all you idiots see in him, Monfils and Nadal are around his age and much more talented.

first to dandy2fast, poor you. No idea where the hell your getting your info, Gasquet is 48th in the rankings, not 12th. And I think that YOU are the dumbass, not me if you don't know this simple fact.

To Steve, currently Monfils is ranked 25 full spots ahead of Gasquet. If you believe he will pass Monfils by the end of the year you are definitely on crack.
And to superman, who cares what he says? Every human being is optimistic about themselves, including me, you, everyone on this board and Gasquet.
His win against Federer was nothing but luck, and he is definitely overrated. He beats feeble competition but when he faces the big boys he pees in his pants.
Bottomline is Gasquet is a good player but nothing great. He hasn't been a threat at a single slam in his career, and even hasn't won a Masters Event in his career. He needs to beef up his game, and my opinion about him won't change until he beats REAL tennis players.
With that being said, I am gladly leaving this thread because of all the ignorant idiots that just post without any knowledge of the pro game.
