Haglund's Deformity Shoes

Taking a shot, I've been having foot issues related to Haglund's Deformity...basically I have more bone than typical in one heel which makes my achilles more susceptible to inflammation as it is stretched tighter than typical. The heel actually has a bump to the rear so the idea it to have shoes that do not rub up and down inflaming the area.

Also, podiatrist told me that while I should stretch my calves, etc as much as possible to elongate the muscle when not playing that zero drop shoes, while great for some, are definitely not for me. When I'm active I need to reduce over stretching of the achilles and calves so an elevated heel would be best.

Anyway, some of these inflammations have been pretty severe of late and I would really like to know if anyone has found certain tennis shoe brands or models that have helped them. Good heel pocket and somewhat elevated back of shoe vs toe.

The podiatrist has recommended some everyday shoe brands but not any shoes durable enough to play tennis in. Hoping there are a few other in similar situations that can pass on some recommendations.

Suggestions?

No shoes to recommend, but there are silicone gel heel cups that might help - they raise and cushion your heel. I have a very tight left achilles, and use kinesiotape, which helps, but I have no idea if it would help you.

I would second trying the heel cups. The ones I've used are called Tuli's and they have a "Polar Bear" (I think) model (don't ask me why) that is gel with an extra soft density pad in the heel area. Lotto Stratosphere Speed2 (narrow) and Viper UltraIII speed, Babolat SFX2, and Diadoras are known to be soft. The Asics Gel Court FF is supposed to be well cushioned but they hurt my heel immediately. I think it's pretty individual. I remember reading in a biography of Nadal that he has a foot problem and they kept modding his shoes to provide soft cushion where he has a bone problem.
