For serves/volleys.

for groundies,

For power,

for consistency,

for touch,

for durability,

for cost,

For feel,

for control,

for sound/crack,

for spin,

for playability,

For softness/arm,

for stiffness, speed/pace,

For drop shots,

For flat shots.

vs team 17g/blackcode was great for power/serve/volley.

Alu/barb wire was great for spin/control/drop shots/lobs, spin shots.

Ashaway kevlar/alu was great for durability.

Sound? Depends on the acoustics of court.

Vs team/alu was great for returns.

Barb wire full was great for sheer spin.

Ace 18g/gut was great for kickers/drops.

No string job is perfect. Closest overall, vs team/blackcode 18g. You can dial that into anything you want to hit for!

I had prince poly exp in a full bed, which was pretty good, so I'm considering replacing PHT with this because PHT dies much faster than EXP 17. I may miss the rifle sound though :)

i think my perfect string job was wilson 17g natural gut in the mains at 55 lbs, with lux alu spin in the crosses at 53 lbs, with string savers, in a kblade 98..soooo butter

Wilson ie, vs team/alu spin? Now you are talking my language. The h22 is the pro version of the kblade, but the kblade is still high quality, also made in China.

A friend let me play a few games with his PS85 freshly strung with VS gut and Lux alu. I don't know the tensions but damn, I nearly had an on court orgasm. For my own staff a PDGT, it is VS gut in the mains at 60 and Lux Alu in the crosses at 55. I had not been big into hybrids but the touch and feel you get with gut has just ruined me.

Tons of people use this hybrid exclusively as the best string job avail.

My current favorite:

Babolat VS Team 17 30 kg mains x Luxilon Alu Rough 28 kg crosses.

Last me 8-10 hours, and plays great from start to finish.

Blackcode is also good on tens. maint. Try it with vs mains!

I have contemplated this many times. And every time I reach the same conclusion to justify not trying. If it ain't broke don't mess with it.

A full bed of BC is the best hitting experience I have had (ok, not entirely true. I would much rather be using ALU rough but I refuse to pay for a string that is dead in 4-6 hours). Sure I could test out a hybrid with VS, but what if I hate it? I just wasted $40 on gut. Or what if I love it? Now I have to spend $35 on strings when I could be spending $12.

I'm too settled with BC to mess with my setup.

You can restring that way four or five times, using gut mains/poly crosses. Vs team holds its tension unbelievably well when doing this.
