Help, i hit my forehand too far back

rather than making contact in front of my body. I have a sw/w grip, aeropro drive like nadal, and often hit the ball open stance, and I think the grip makes hit harder to hit out in front, something to do with the racket angle....So i hit a lot of balls like i said, open stance with the reverse forehand. It is fun to hit but my pro says i am losing a lot of power when doing this and i am hitting loopy shots.

DO i have to modify my grip a little to allow for this? I just need to normalize my swing and hit through the ball, make contact out in front...but dont want to give up the spin!

Any ideas?

This is a little perplexing to me because western grips and open stances typically make it more natural to hit the ball out in front.

That is interesting...I would have to argee with Djokovicfan4life. Is there any way you can post a video, so we can see what it looks like...it would make it much easier for us to help you.

Is your arm too bent at contact? That could be part of the problem. If you watch videos of Nadal, you'll see that his arm is almost completely straight at contact.
