I need help. I am a sop****re in high school and I am finally developing my play style. I recently found a video on how to do the buggywhip shot but I need a video or picture gallery to learn two things: Twist (Kick) serve and Drop Shot. My style is very weird, because I am very speedful and I have good timing and reaction skills, so I am working with a Serve - Volley and Speed mix, but I also have amazing smash skills, with an especially well developed backhand smash which is sort of... not needed.

Any help?

http://tennis.about.com/od/serve/a/faqspinservesor.htm

Good websites with all the serves I have seen described. I have used flat, slice, topspin, topspin-slice, and even backspin serves (although mine was an overhead backspin second serve) and have seen one person use the reverse slice with western grip and also as well as an underhand topspin and have seen a few good twist serves as well.

I think I would like to experiment with the reverse slice western grip serve since it's just like a lefty serve and difficult to return as it stays low and breaks away from opponent's backhand. It's pretty tricky to master though but worth adding to a server's reportoire.

I would also like to add the twist serve. From the example his toss is more to the left than for his slice. I have found mine to twist away more when the toss is to the left but haven't found the correct angle of slice yet to get them to bounce to the right after they have curved left.

If you choose to pay the subscription price, www.tennisone.com, has excellent images of Pat Rafter. Most of his serve and volley sequences on that site show him executing the American Twist (I'm not old, just a patriot) or Kick serve.

Good hunting.

BTW if Marius can't find a freebee link for the Kick, it can't be found.

Sorry Kevhen,

I was typing while you were posting. Didn't know you were a 6.0 link locator too.

The best and cheapest video is on www.tennisweek.com.

Order the "Kings of the Court" video and it comes with additional footage, including Tilden hitting his "American Twist", which is still considered one of the best ever. What I like about the video is that it shows it from a couple of angles, including from behind, which really gives you a good idea how to hit it.

I think the video is about $30. Its worth it just for the history lesson, but the bonus footage is actually still valid today.
