How imporant are stars on tennis recruiting?

I know there is a thread about tennis recruiting already on here, but I couldn't find any of the stuff I am wondering about in it. How much better for example is somebody that has 1 star compared to somebody with no stars? How does somebody with no stars even get listed on the website? I'm just wondering how accurate of a depiction of a person's ability level the star ranking system is? thanks.

Players get listed on the site by playing in tournaments with other players that are already tracked. I know I did not do anything to list my daughter and she started showing up.

i think you have to be in the top half of competitors to get one star.
