how much does headsize matter?

Generally more control with a smaller head because weight directly behind the ball, but with the advent of incredible Poly Strings it doesn't matter that much anymore. I used to be a small head only player, 6.0, but now use a 100 Bab PD, only difference is more power and more forgiving, small racquets will go the way of the Do-Do with Poly, although I love to break out my PS85 and 90 and nothing beats that feel, and nothing better for practice.

Love to practice with a Dunlop AG 4D 100 (90) when I get outside in the spring... then move to either the Dunlop 400 Tour (100) when it matters...

Does a smaller racquet head provide more control and allow one to swing out with more confidence than a racquet with a larger head?

I find that I'm often trying to control (by swinging slower) my balls from going long, so I was wondering if a 95sq head would help with depth and power control?

Try it and feel yourself. I definitely feel that when I am on an aggressive mood, with swings, a large head size feel sluggish. But I know that I like this specific large head size racket, when I am more disciplined on swings, and not trying for those pin pointed (flatish) winners. So I am mentally prepared for different swings based on which racket I pick up, and both works well for me. But I end up using the smaller 90sq most of the time.

I am starting to realize that, on all these topics there is always two sides mostly because each player is different in terms of timing, swingstyle, feel and movement, and there is no other option than trying it yourself and feel it.

extra topspin will keep your groundstrokes from going long. this is an issue of technique more so than equipment. and you want more RHS, not less.

I hate oversize rackets but last summer I used a friends 117 sq frame and never played so well. I'm sure it's because I'm old and reflexes and eyes are different but it kills me how much better and consistent I play with an oversize.
