hybrid cross

so i decided on getting a 17 gauge polyester main so that i can use it as a main in my hybrid. im probably gonna get gosen polylon ice 17 from Tennis Warehouse but i might get a deal on some topspin poly polar 17 if that works out. im trying to decide if i want a 16 gauge or 17 gauge synthetic gut. ill probably buy gosen og micro cause its cheap. which gauge should i get? and what are the benefits of each?

so how can u get a 17 poly 4 crosses and use aas main and call it hybrids :S

Hi,

You might have to do a search on that issue. There a few schools of thought on that one. I tend to use a 17 main and a 16 cross. It really depends on the strings...what you are trying to do with your set-up.. etc. Not really an easy answer for you on this one. Maybe ask someone like Steve Huff...

yea its sorta tough to decide. if i can get this topspin poly polar for a good price im gonna get it cause i've heard great things about it compared to gosen's polylon ice. the poly polar is a 17 gauge and im happy with that. the reason im questionable on the cross is cause if i got 16 gauge it would be good for people i string for. 17 gauge cross, im guessing, would give me more playability and such

I use 17g everything, or at least I do now, I just had some 16g lying around and I couldn't let it go to waste.

I got some 16g as a gift, normally I use 17g, mains and crosses.

I would try both, one in each racquet. That way you will find out which is better for you.

use prince durashite on crosses in 17 its is ridicolous but plays wel;l and lats too long or use babolat xcel 17 or conquest 17 hope that helps

i won't be purchasing those probably. i think that if i spend enough on a reel of poly polar, i might as weel just buy sets of PSGD 16 or HEAD synthetic gut16 from academy. its cheap and ill just use it as crosses. i guess i won't mind having a 16 gauge cross.

im basically asking what are the difference between having a 16 gauge and a 17 gauge cross combined with 17 gauge poly mains?
