I'm always in no mans land. If I notice I just subconsciously go back later. I lost a game today for that! (And because I hate doubles but that's something else) what do I do?

Short balls yeah. It only really happens against one person, cause his strategy is too like barely hit it over he net. Sometimes he decides to be a jerk and lob, since he knows I'm so badly coordinated and have crappy vision ill trip.
Pretty much. I can be good at volleys, but I'm near sites in one eye and far sighted in the other. I only see the ball for like five seconds as it shoots right past my head. I broke my glasses btw.

Yeah, that's what I figured. I would 1) anticipate his short ball 2) run up to hit it in the midcourt (like you do right now) and 3) put it away or at least make his next shot very difficult to pull off, then 4) run up to the net and bounce it over the fence.

Or you could just hit a short ball/dropshot back at him so that by the time he gets to it you should be at the net. Most of the time, net position>no mans land
