After 8 months (July-March), my barricade IVs have probably seen enough (worn down, especially toe area). I was unable to take advantage of the 6 month warranty because after July and August, I didn't play enough the wear them out.

Now that the tennis season has started, I think it would be an excellant time to get some new shoes and maybe I'll be able to take advantage of 6 month durability guarantees too, since we have 2 hour practices 6 times a week, or matches.

I'm looking for shoes that have enough durability to last me until the end of summer (or at least have the 6 month guarantee so I can change them sometime). The best scenario would be to have the 1st pair last till June, then I can switch to the 2nd pair for the summer.

Barricade IVs were excellant except for the weight: putting on running shoes made it feel like I was running on air. The durability of the IVs is pretty attractive. I'm looking at some lighter shoes and have looked at the wilson trance and nike max breathe cage. I'm worried thatt the breathe cage won't last long enough, as some of the feedback said that they didn't last long. Also the breathe cages are only 1 once lighter than the IV's, so I don't know whether that really will make too much of a difference. 90 bucks is probably the maximum my parents will play for tennis shoes, since I just got a new pair of mizuno's this month for running.

If you did not make a hole in the shoe by the fourth month you should probably just wear them casually so you're wearing them out while walking or whatever.

asics gel resolution, a little less durable than barricades so that you will wear them out before 6 months (you can get a 6 month guarantee if you look around). Also they are just fantastic shoes

whatever you do don't buy the nike air zoom revive if you find them. its like wearing Crocs to the tennis courts, LOL

I got some astounding durability out of a pair of Diadora Speedzones last year. Compared to some of the stuff I've used from K-Swiss and Prince, the D's completely outclassed them. I've got a pair of Speed Fires right now and I'm hoping that the sole is the same (it seems to be), but I'm still in the honeymoon phase so I won't go bananas with a recommendation. You ought to look into the brand though, and see if they're a good fit for you.

Agreed. But then again, I won't wear anything over 15 ounces (the Trances were really pushing the limit!), so I'm in a league of my own :D

yeah man I hear yah. I am constantly on the search for a lighter shoe. I feel much more mobile when i'm not lugging anchors around on my feet.

This is extremely off-topic, but what shoes do you currently use? I'm wearing the Trance All Courts because they're within my parameters, but barely, coming in at 14.9 ounces for a size 10.5 (but I wear 11.5 8) ), and they also have a 6 month guarantee! :D

Asics Resolutions. Have only used them about 2 weeks but they feel even lighter than the rating given. I wanted something even lighter than those...but with the reviews I read...I had to try them out!

Actually, 16.9 ounces is pretty hefty. I guess you mean that they feel light weight?

good point. i guess compared to the shoes you wear and shoes like the feather, then 16.9 is pretty hefty. im used to wearing nike breathes though and the propulses are pretty close to the same as those (only .6 oz heavier than the cage II). so i thought they felt pretty light. i can definately see how they would seem hefty after wearing 14 oz. shoes though. :)
