Considering the pathetic state of women's tennis, the lack of consistency and lack of any rivalries...........if Graf and Clijsters came are out of retirement right now where would they rank?
Seems like they'd have an easy time beating any of the Top 50 except for Serena.

Both are well past their primes. they would struggle physically.
Graf played in a weaker era. She got the tail end of Navratilova and retired before the depth started to increase. Seles was big disappointment for tennis as well as humanity as well. Though Graf was a great player she really faced a void of quality players, M Court had greater competition. Graf is 47 and she will not be beating any top 50 consistently enough to be in the top 100. This is like saying Borg could come back at 60 and be in the top 10 due to weak era. It's not happening. Go watch some tennis live, get down and dirty with the players and see how good No.50 is today. Tennis depth is improving, it's the top that varies as it usually the anomaly.

Graf wouldn't get anywhere near the top, Clijsters could be top 20. Still only 33 and only been out of the game for a few years.

didn't Henin tried to make a comeback and failed miserably, she was better talent than Kim.

Henin won Brisbane, made it to the final of the Australian Open as well losing to Serena. Her comeback only lasted six months because she fractured her arm against Clijsters at Wimbledon. I wouldn't call that failed miserably, maybe a bit of bad luck.

Clijsters by the way is extremely talented, a pure athlete, one of the best in the womens game, had the physique to play other top level sports. Great ball striker in the Agassi mould. Clisjters and Henin were on the same level of talent, but in different ways, Henin could do more with her backhand and take to net.

Yes you are right, may be I used miserably wrong way but her injury sort of prove my point, people think playing at 30+ is easy but what they don't get that one injury and you are done, see Fed , he was having great run but got injured and he is struggling.

Steffi is coming up on 50 years of age. She might be god almighty, but I'm not seeing her making it that high up the rankings. Clijsters would probably be in the top 10, sure.

Graf played Navratilova 18 times, and is tied 9-9 with someone who is inarguably the most accomplished tennis player in the history of the game. It's a bit silly to speculate how someone retired for nearly two decades would do returning to the circuit, but its more silly to try and argue Graf is anything short of one of the greatest players in the history of the game, especially when Navratilova herself claims Graf is the best ever.

OP: come on.

Graf has too much sense to think a near 50-year old would have a chance against anyone--particularly those at the top. She knows who the superior players are and respects that fact.

Kim is not as old, but even when last on tour, her style of play had reached its limit, and was not going to crank out another few majors, so coming back now would produce little, other than the minor curiosity of a former player returning to the tour.

I think your arguing with yourself there. I already stated she was a great in my post, no one denies that. Just stated that the level of tennis now is not worse than when she dominated. Think your looking for an argument rather than conversation.

Kimiko Date was ranked in top 100 And she is like 45.

No doubts that Graf will be in top 50.

Not sure if some of you watched the video of Petkovic - Graf a couple of years back and it looked Graf was dictating rallies

Clijsters would be top 20 and GRaf would be top 40

Justine unfortunately took a fall and injured her hitting arm at Wimbledon.

If anyone could make a comeback and do extremely well, it would be Justine.
