If Nadal didn’t exist, Fedovic would have more overall slams, sure. But they’d also have a bucket load of RG’s. I’m 100% willing and confident enough to say that Federer and Djokovic would be considered better clay court players than Bjorn Borg if Nadal didn’t exist.

2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011 RG would all belong to Roger Federer. Meanwhile...

2012, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2020 RG would be Novak Djokovic’s

Considering the gulf in era’s and the quality of opponents faced, I honestly believe these 2 would be considered stronger clay court players than Bjorn Borg.

Djoker wasn't anything special in 2007 and Fed played a pretty solid match in the final. 2008 a different story.

Djokovic was very competitive with Roger from 07-10 and the gap between them is much smaller on clay. The only match they played on clay other than a retirement went Djokovic's way. Even in 06 Djokovic took a set of Roger on clay. Not saying Roger's not the favorite but I don't think it's nearly as clear as the other ones listed. I think between 07-08 you'd expect Novak to win one honestly.

Yeah, he'd win one. 2008. But I'm assessing this hypothetical based on how they performed at RG specifically. And Fed of 2007 gave an even tougher fight against an even better Nadal while 2007 Djokovic wasn't all that impressive.
