Importance of tie-off holes...

How important is it for the stringer to tie the string off at the correct holes?

For example, on my racquet, the stringer appears to have missed a tie-off by one hole, the tie-off at the top should be one more hole over to the right...

Alot of people actually change the tie-off holes. You can really clean up the excess string on the outside of the frame using box patterns or certain ATW patterns and changing tie-off holes.

Exactly. And to add to this point, the only issue I would have with people moving tie-off holes are the following:
1) They damaged the string already in the grommet by pushing string through unnecessarily.
2) Their tie-off hole requires more string in the grommet channel than the recommended tie-off hole would

Hmm, I guess it makes sense for him to change the tie-off holes then since he was stringing my racquet with a hybrid, as opposed to the one-piece stringjob that came with my racquet from TW...

Exactly. Two-piece jobs are a mess in the grommet channel. Much can be done to correct this. And much should be done, especially at the head where exposed string is more susceptible to wear.
