Inversion on the forehand.

Ok I'm actually going to make a seriouse post this time so here it is. My coach tells me all the time about "inversion" on my forehand. He tells me I should be finishing with my elbow on my chin with my palm facing down at the end of my swing. I don't have any problems with the actual inversion of the racquet, but I tend to not extend through my swing enough and end up finishing on my hip. When I do finish with the elbow on my chin, I tend to hit a little too flat and hit the ball long. Any suggestions?
