I've got a problem xD

I don't know if this is just me having a bad habit or me not knowing what to do but for some reason I always seem to slice a ball on returns and most of my rallies. Help?

You should take a class to help overcome that habit or practice hitting forehands and backhands. In a game set a goal to not hit a single slice or at least limit yourself to a few slices in each game. Hope that helps.

Concentrate hard. Force yourself to hit every ball. It may be hard, but you'll get results soon enough.

I used to have the same problem. I lost most of my matches because i was not aggressive on the return. Go after the ball, especially on the second serve. If your opponent has a weak serve, your slice return takes that away and gives him a chance in the point. If you go after it, you most likley will win the point. Hope this helps.

no for some reason when I get to close to a ball, I end up always slicing it even though I know I should just drive it.

I weaned myself off backspin by switching to grips that are difficult to slice with (semi-western forehand and extreme eastern backhand). I've since gone back to my old grips, but I've kept the newer shot selection. Changing your grips may be a bit drastic, but it worked for me.

I'm starting to not use slice now ^^ yay. My trouble now is really figuring out how to apply topspin and a lot of it when I'm in a rally because in a practice with me drop hitting, its fine but in rally I can't generate much spin. Help?

When you swing forward (and follow through) try leading with the top of the frame ever so slightly. Hopefully that should get you coming over the ball.

Thnx will. I'm starting to get a hang of it, now all I have to do is perfect my 1 hand bh and I'm good to go. Just right now its hard to hit them high balls or nail an outright winner. I use an eastern backhand grip currently. help please?
