Junior US Open

I was confused reading the eligibility for Junior US open. Does anybody know the rules clearly?. Does a player have to start playing what is called ITF junior tournaments and get the rankings up to qualify? or getting the rankings up in national 14 and under is enough?

ITF rank has to be very high, unless you win the 16s at Kalamazoo, or the USTA gives you a wildcard.

We've been eye-balling this possibility too. I still believe that if you start playing the ITFs immediately this year, you stand a chance. I have to assume that the US Open will likely have more Americans in it. 14 & under? Man, I think that's pushing it. I don't know if they have that kind of age division at the Jr. U.S. Open. Otherwise, start ITF 16s while you're 14, 15. Remember, for ITF you have to be 16 or < all the way to Dec 31 of the competition year. or 18 & under all the way to Dec 31.

Just my observations, my son's ranking in 14s was nothing like what he is in 18s. There will be a lot of movement in the rankings over the next few years for you.

yea im pretty sure theres no junior us open 14s

There is no seperate age groups. 13 or 18, you play in the same division.
