Kneissl Red Star, where have you been all my life!?

Thanks Kevin T. Any luck in the grommets search? A regular set of grommets should last a couple years if not being abused, but if the racket causes arm problems to you it is a different story.

guys;
what's similar to a Kneissl red star?
I bought and sold couple of these which I regret a lot.
Have you found any racquet not discontinued whit similar feel? I'm not talking about what TW specs posts in their website.
I'd like to know if possible opinions of real users.
I'm aware that there is a new line (in Europe) but I can't afford those prices.
thanks a lot!

I too regret selling my Redstars. Nothing seems to compare. But I am currently using a PDRGT+ with decent results. Its not quite as quick through the air as the RS but still plays lighter than its specs indicate.
Try a PDRGT+, its pretty nice.

looking to replace my Stars bought couple of Dunlops aerogel 4D tour based on similar specs. These are very nice racquets but as you said nothing compares to the Reds.

Hi guys, and thanks for all your reviews and your opinions. After reading this thread, i couldn't resist to go ahead and order 1 RedStars right away to try. I got it yesterday, 7-7-10. Like others have, it came pre-strung with Kneissl Poly-Tech. There's no specs or any info on the racquet but Kneissl, 1 little sticker indicates grip size, and 1 tiny sticker at the butt cap shows Made in China. I must say everything the reviewer posted is right. The racquet is awesome. I hit for around 3 or 5 minutes and totally forgot about the extra length. I really like this stick and i think i'll cut it down to 27" for more comfortable. After comparing this racquet with a regular 27" racquet carefully, i found out an important thing: if you measure this Kneissl 27.5" with a regular 27" racquet from the bridge at the throat, you will see clearly that, FROM THE BRIDGE, the Kneissl 's HEAD SHAPE is .25" higher and also FROM THE BRIDGE, the Kneissl's handle is .25" longer. THIS MEANS THE KNEISSL RACQUET IS ACTUALLY .25" LONGER THAN A REGULAR 27" RACQUET. No wonder many buddies here said that they didn't feel the extra length after hitting for awhile. I don't think it's a good idea to cut off the extra 1/2" from the handle because if you do so, you'll be likely playing with a 26.75" racquet, and the racquet is not as original any more. Does anyone notice about this?

After hitting with the Red Star in another 2 hours testing, i know for sure that i am hooked to this frame. I just ordered 3 more from TW. I really don't know much about the Kneissl bag and its weird shape, can anyone give some feedback about Kneissl bag? I really like new Pacific team bag, and i think it will go well with the red star.

The Red Star play's beautifully... The extra length for me helps me out due to the higher swingweight but lower actual weight.

I would like to try the Kneissl Tom's Machine (both the 28 and 27.5) that TW has up for sale... but with no demo program of it, I'm very hesitant.

Although at $100, these are a good deal.

After winning my last 5 matches with this stick....just ordered 2 more. I will now have 4 total.

My serve has been off the chain. My volleying and 1-handed BH...never better.

The only shot that I have not adjusted to yet is my down the line forehand. For whatever reason, that is the one shot that the extra length has given me real problems with.

I used the 27.5" Toms Machine for a long time; it's a really great, flexible, control-oriented racquet. The 28" has tempted me - they didn't have that one around when I bought mine - but the only elbow problems I've ever had were when I used to use the old Toms Reach Machine, which was 28". It was a lot more head-heavy than the new Toms Machine, but I think the fact that virtually no one makes 28" players' racquets any more tells you something. I can tell you that the 27.5" version is sweet, though.

Hi,

Sorry for the intrusion - I just recently bought a Kneissl Square 2 model from the auction site out from curiosity. Does anybody have ever heard of it or know its spec? I googled and yahooed but couldn't find a single lead.

Thanks, Tony.
Are you sure that's the name? They had one a while back called the Reach Top Machine Square Ti; I used to use it. Dark gray with lime green accents. Is that what you bought?
