Lightest / Head Lightest player's racquet

Looking for a light weight / head lightest racquet old or new. Interested in Fischer frames since learning some of which were made in Austria. Not big on racquets made in countries with poor working conditions and EPA type regulations....

the link for such Fischer racquet with 16 pts HL, maybe a typo? Tennis warehouse racquet finder won't give you any options above 10 pts HL? It did give an option for a dicountinued Fischer Pro Spin with a weight around 9.5 oz and 10 pts HL. Looking for racquet suggestions with specs like such which could possibly be made somewhere other than China.

Are you looking for low swingweight players rackets, or just light ones?

The Radicals, 6.1 Team, and previous gen BLX Blade 98 are very lightweight, control oriented frames I've used. The Rebels, Prestige S, and Volkl 10 series in the lighter weight also come to mind but I have not used those.

I think he's specifically looking for an ultra light racquet that is also very headlight. The Volkl Team Speed Green is the best combination I was able to find. Most ultra light racquets are either evenly balanced or head heavy.

the lightest most head light racquet made guess and string for power? yes, the suggestion for Head racquets has been made (remember you can still older ones made in Austria/Cezch)++.

Venetian is knows me, the BLX, 6.1 Team, Rebels, Prestige S, Volkl 10 aren't as light oz nor HL as the Volkl Team Speed Green.

Please keep the suggestions coming and again looking for the lightest, head lightest players racquet (thin beam) possible

example: (discontinued) Fischer Pro Spin with 9.5 oz and 10 pts HL.
(discontinued) Fishcer Pro Classic 12.3 oz and 16 pts HL

both made in Austria? tried to post the link about the Pro Classic which sold on ****. **** ID number is 261166820040, if you guys want to look it up? would definitly want to feel 16 pts HL sometime

even have bought a child's racquet hoping to fabricate a handle out of fiberglass, to make a 27-28 inch racquet. the first attempt is a failure because the metal pipe used as structure for the fiberglass will not release from the racquet. was hoping to wrap fiberglass cloth around the pipe, apply resin to the cloth to form fiberglass, then pull the pipe out. but it's not going to work.

a new idea is to cut to some metal rings from the pipe and connect both with thin metal rod, then fiberglass over top and connect to the racquet (possibly leaving a good chunk of ring at the end handle to make for a head light racquet, but not as much as to sacrifice weight.

yes, would prefer a super thin all metal racquet (beam the size of a pencil). then be able to add weights/weighted tape to parts which you want heavier. maybe such racquet would be too heavy or too flexablel?

I actually demoed that racquet and it felt a lot more evenly balanced than the specs suggest, compared with something like the Pure Storm Team that felt more headlight than it's posted 1pt HL. That's just my experience with one demo though, so YMMV. It might be a better fit if one were to cut the majority of the bumper guard off, as I like to do with all of my racquets for an increased headlight feeling.

The Volkl Team Speed Green would be a nice choice for someone looking to tinker with I think.

1. Headlight and light implies low swingweight. Here are the specs for that Fischer Vacuum Pro 98 that recently sold on flea bay. I think you've focused on the racquet being 16 points head light, and are making that a proxy for something that is easy to swing. At 12.3 Oz, I think a more appropriate perspective would be to call it tail heavy. Just eyeballing those specs, I'd guesstimate the swingweight is somewhere in the 310-330 range.

Head Size: 98 sq. in.
Grip: 4-3/8 in.
Length: 27 in.
Weight: 12.3 oz. strung
Balance: 16 pts. head light
String Pattern: 16 x 20

2. If low SW is truly what you are after, then you dont want to modify the pallet of a shorter junior racquet, you'd do better to approach it the other way around. A better start would be to chop down an extended length frame. Racquet companies understand that adding length creates maneuverability issues, so extended length frames are built with that in mind. That's why you will often see them at low SW and 12 or more points HL. Chopping down the extra length would drastically cut the swingweight from there. 3. I've been trying to figure out where you are coming from, and I think I can intuit/guess what you are trying to achieve here with the statement above. Perhaps you have in mind to have a racquet that is very easy to swing, a racquet that is super maneuverable, but then you'd make up for the lack of mass in the business end of the stick, by stringing for power? I think you might be severely overestimating the effect of string tension to racquet power, and underestimating the effects of swingweight. If you drop tension from 60 lbs to 50 lbs, you are likely to gain whopping 0.4 MPH on a 100 MPH serve. Strings and tension will make a little difference, but mostly, ball speed is a matter of racquet head speed and swingweight. (mass times acceleration) If you'd like to swing really fast, and get your juice that way, then a light racquet will help you do this. As an added bennie, you will create some additional spin out of the deal. But string tension/type of string, are going to only help out with the reduced inherent rebound power of a low sw frame by a fractional amount.

I think the Volkl would be a fantastic platform for customization, as you could put lead in a variety of positions to change the feel. I can only really see adding lead to the handle of the Airflow, since it's head heavy already.

yes, leaning towards the Volk, however, something like the Fischer Pro Classic is heavier with the 16 pts HL still might not be bad for me even considering the weight at 12.5 oz VS 9.4 oz (difference 3.1 oz) Can you give me the differences between the two (how it feels). Obviously swingweight like Jack mentioned. But, thinking of a tennis swing, if you have a racquet with most of the weight in the handle, then (to me with my swing type (the windsheild wiper where most of the rotation of the racquet is at the handle, thus making it like a lever)) it's not going to make much difference. Actually more weight at the handle might help me? Do any of you agree? Or maybe you can elaborate? Might demo the Volk and BLX because it seems like the Airflow you cannot demo. Still a sucker for made in Austria 1993, so, get another chance for the Fischer, might go for it. Still, anybody who has a Fischer Pro Spin racquet for sale (9.5oz 10pts HL), let me know.
