Lobster ball machine on Clay Surfaces

Is it safe to operate a Lobster ball machine on a Clay surface? My son just got a ball machine that works quite well (lobster 3) but he would like to take it to red clay surfaces. Is there is risk derived from the clay dust that would accumulate on the machine? please advise.

I have a SP Pro, and I don't take it to clay courts. As it is, it fills up with ball fuzz - I'd hate to add dust/dirt from a clay court to the mix.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. That would really be some serious debris to have to scrape out.
