Looking for a racquet for intermediate

Hey, I am looking for a racquet for myself, I am a 3.5-4.0 player. I am usually an aggresive baseliner but will also come to the net quite a bit to volley. I am currently using a Pure Drive GT, which I do not like one bit. Too much power for my liking, also like to swing faster, but with this racquet it is hard t do. I am looking for a racquet with a low power level and a Fast swing speed. None of this moderate-fast stuff. Looking to get a newer racquet, 180-200 dollar price range. Stiffness.. well this PD is way too stiff for me and I dont liek the feel of it. Weight up to 11.7 ounces, headlight, I am am seeking a racquet which is more control oriented.(not high power level) want to generate my own power. A racquet where I can hit out without having shots fly.

How is the Babolat Pure Storm GT? Is it softer in on the arm and more of what I would be looking for?

I would order the Babolat as a demo. When you do, TW automatically recommends several other racquets with similar specs. That's one way to get several racket recommendations immediately.

Maybe demo the Radical and Prestige MP.

I second that. The Youteks-Prestige is heavier, more control and greater stability than the Rad. It is also more headlight than the Rad. The Rad has more power, lighter and is a little more flexible.

Both have more control and are more flexible than your current stick.

My location is not available to demo racquet's unfortunately. How does the Pure Storm GT compare to the Radical and prestige mp?

I had the same problem, my coach had a few but they were basically all oversize or has awful feeling. Did you buy the babolat off the forums or where?
We should play some time; Aggressive Baseline Volleyer, so similar to my game

Sportchek polo park has a whole bunch of racquets like the Nadal one, many pure drives, has the BLX 90 fed one. djokovic one , prestiges. No pure storms or radicals though. What is your skill level we can hit sometime.

I'm not quite sure about my skill level, as I have been reworking my game tons lately. If I had to guess I'd guess around ~4.0 but I've never played anyone with a rating(still a HS student)
I had no idea that SportChek sold quality racquets either, good to know

I would demo the blx fed frame / prestige. Get a feel for what a lower powered, headlight, "heavier," players frame feels like. Than you can make a more informed choice on exactly what you want.

Sounds like you're after a Prestige ;)...give that a go, or if you can get your hands on a Dunlop 300 series (any of them), try that too :)

The logical progression from a PDGT is to a Pure Storm Tour, the 320g version. More control but still a good bit of power when it is needed and the extra weight of the PST comes in handy as you start to face opponents who are hitting harder. From the PST you could later move on to a Pure Storm Limited which is all about control and works best as an all-court racquet, but doesn't have the ummph at the baseline that the PST does.

After looking, store doesnt have a Head YOUTEK Prestige Pro just the other two prestiges. I dont want to go with a 18 20 string pattern I want a 16 20 so I can generate more spin. This past week I was hitting with a bb 11 and its good except not as much spin potential because of the 18 20, good weight because it is head light though. If I get a ps gt then I will add a leather grip for the added weight and 2-3 pts more headlight too.

Nope, dont know a matthew in the junior tennis scene of winnipeg. What school you go to?

Kelvin, you probably shouldn't know me though. Planning to start playing tourneys this year. For all I know i'm probably vastly overrated my abilities :)

Hmm, does your last name start with any of these two letters. AL, FI, PR,

PR :), Check the honor roll page and you'll find me. Shoot me an e-mail at matt94@gmail.com and we can work out when we can hit if you still want to.
My coach said if I want to improve I should start playing tourneys, that said my second serve is WEAK ATM(mainly due to my awful, awful toss). Maybe I should try the U16 first, hopefully I won't get blasted off the court within the hour ;)

If you play the number 1 seed it wont be close but any others it might be closer match.

There are loads which you could try. Just get a few raquets on demo and try and them (and beware of the 'honeymoon' period). Of the racquets that I would suggest, the following offer a good balance of control, manouvrablity, flexibless, feel and playability:-

1. Pure Storm Ltd
2. Dunlop 300
2. Dunlop 300 Tour
