I notice alot of pros use Luxilon ALU Power 16L, and Babolat VS 16L, but do they put Luxilon ALu on the mains or the crosses?

On a k90, should i put it in the mains or the crosses?

depends on preference. Alot of pros use poly mains and gut cross. roger uses gut mains poly cross for example. Doesn't really depend on the racket, more what works for you. As a rule:

Gut mains Poly crosses : more feel, more power, more forgiveness, nat. gut feels dominant

Poly mains Gut crosses: more durability, more spin, more control, poly feel is more dominant.

Personally I like gut mains poly crosses. But im a s&v player, so i like gut feeling dominant.

If you want to be like Federer, he strings the mains with gut and puts the poly on the crosses.

totally down to personal preference. I have tried gut mains and alu crosses, and the other way round and there is a major difference. Just gotta figure out which suit you better.

How's the durability when using gut as a main?

i'd venture to say less than using gut on the crosses. most of the spin in generated by the main strings, therefore i would assume that the main strings get more wear and tear than the crosses.

i might be wrong in saying that, but my experience when using the same string on crosses as i do on the mains, the mains snap first.

Using a gut main does affect the durability greatly. Ive used VS mains and hurricane crosses and that lasted 6-7 hours of hard hitting...when i used the poly in the mains it lasted around 15 hours of hitting. Im a stringbreaker by the way.
