He won an Olympic gold on rather slow clay, got to the semis at the French and did close to jack on grass. He was actually a very well rounded player.

He was very good at booking the right plane flights too. It's probably what more people remember him for than anything on the court. He had a wristy forehand I kinda remember.

I forgot he won Oly medal. Maybe because Oly is not important in tennis especially back then.
