Sad news! Such a cult hero in the game. Had a beautiful game to watch even when he got fat and old, and watching him still able to occasionally school youngsters right up till last year was awesome to behold. Those breakout slam runs of his in 2006/07 were so badass.

He has given us some great moments. Who will ever forget the racquet smashing exhibition or the 2006 AO run? Such beautifully grooved stroke mechanics and a knack for living in the moment on court.

Marcos was probably never fully able to give up enough of the good life to maximise his potential. He was truly a f$&#ing good player in the 2000's before relaxing into life as a cult figure on tour in the last 7 or 8 years.

Yep. Didn;t live up to his potential, and injuries got the better of him in the end.

Mouratoglou hinted to this about Bagdhatis in the past. Didn't put enough into training. Was making enough money, for him to live very comfortably on for the rest of his days, so the "good life" ended up getting the better of him.
One of the few I would like to share a beer with. Seems like a genuinely good guy. It shows in his face.
