Misrepresentation of shoes

I just bought some shoes (Reebok KFS Out Aced White/Red) and they were on the 'Shoes for Wide Feet' page, yet they are medium. What is up with that? I wouldn't have bought them because medium shoes hurt my feet. These shoes are most definitely not for wide feet.

reading the shoe's description it says width is medium. imo - better to read all info u can especially with shoes. hard to substitute actually trying them on.

Well maybe, but if they are on the wide foot page, how do I know which to trust? I figured there was a wide-version of them since they were on the wide foot page. I don't buy often, so I don't know how accurate their descriptions are and how often they are mis-categorized.

TW dropped the ball on this one, and now I have sore feet. :)

even after reading the description, i research more because sometimes "wide" isn't quite enough. sorry to hear about your foot pain. the Prince T9s work well for me tho at times i need to tape those parts of my feet susceptible to blisters.

There are a few shoes in that section described as medium to wide in width.

"Wide shoes" is a personal connotation. I'm sure to a lot of people the shoe you bought would be considered a wide shoe.

To me a medium fit is New Balance 4E, and is the widest Tennis shoe available; and really I need a bigger shoe size.

Well I bought a different pair of shoes a couple months ago and the size is "12W". The size of these shoes is "12". Clearly this is a medium width shoe and fits exactly like all the medium width shoes I've worn in the past. It just clearly was mis-categorized on the site.

Did you look at the other shoe descriptions? If you did you would see other shoes described as medium and medium to wide width. . .

Well I didn't know it was my job as a consumer to look at every pair of shoes to determine what they really mean. I mean if they aren't wide shoes, they shouldn't be on that page and should save consumers the trouble. Don't have categories if they aren't meaningful.
