I play with a gosen micro 16g and i pop it every 4 days. I tried to hybrid it with a poly, but i didnt like the feel of the poly. I was thinking about getting some really DURABLE syn-gut and putting them on the mains and to put 17g gosen micro on the crosses. But i dont know which syn-gut is durable? i need a syn-gut that atleast lasts about 3 weeks? any help would be appreciated.

I used Gosen Sheep Micro for several years. I am hard on strings and it would break in 4-10 hours. Still it played good and was super cheap. Might try Prince syn gut with duraflex. I don't like the feel as much, but it seemed to last me longer. Try a thicker guage. Good Luck...

May be try Prince Topspin With DF 15 Gauge, Gosen Proform Tuff 15 Gauge, or Prince Tournament Nylon 15 Gauge.

Prince synthetic gut 16 with duraflex ... lasts forever !

lol...not really.

but PSGD is a durable synthetic. from a post i read a couple of weeks ago, it came out after the widebodies were introduced so that it would last longer, since the widebodies were "notorious" for breaking string.

It may be slightly durable, but I've never used a string that MOVED more... It will eat itself up after a while.

all synthetics basically dance around and create a newer looking stringbed after each hit :)

bloody911, there may not be a syngut to last you 3wks. You can try the PSGD 15g.

From my experience the gosen micro sheep 16g was more durable than the PSGD 16g. Gosen lasted 10hrs the PSGD lasted 4hrs in my nSix-One 18x20 both at 58lbs.
