Most watched first round match ever at Wimbledon?

With Gasquet rounding into form and gaining confidence with his run at Nottingham, on grass, and Federer winning (but not dominating like he usually does) his grass tuneup, can anyone think of more highly anticipated first round match ever at Wimbledon?

Surely they will televise it???

Oh of course. ESPN wouldn't miss this for the world, with the very real possibility of Federer going out in the first round. I saw the Nottingham final, and WOW. He jumped into the zone and never got pushed out. He'll have loads of confidence going into this, and grass is really his best surface. We'll see tho.

Last years Nottingham final was the same. Makes me think that Gasquet has no surface preference. His strokes adapt, and he can play every shot in the book. I cannot wait!

It will hopefully be a really good match. I think Gasquet will test Roger, but I think Fed will prevail in 4 pretty tight sets.

Even though I think Fed will prevail eventually, I think Gasquet will throw the kitchen sink at him.

Gasquet really does equally well on all surfaces. He's somewhat like Nalbandian or Federer. His strokes are aesthetically most pleasing on clay, but he can do damage on any surface cuz he's so quick to modify his strokes according to the surroundings.

I really hope Dickie becomes the next dominant figure in tennis.

You can say that again...do you guys remember gasquet vs federer at the 05 Monte Carlo?? Gasquet won the match with a backhand passing shot down the line...he was like 5 ft behind the baseline, RETRIEVING the ball....shoot....

gasquet is beautiful to watch. But he has little to no chance against Fed. He's just won a warmup tourney with a very weak field. Fed wont overlook him. Fed in 4. Fed wins first 2 sets loses 3rd cruises in the 4th.

Gasquet has just had the perfect warm-up for this match. Whereas Federer hasn't played a match for a week in order to rest for the upcoming 2 weeks, Gasquet just won a tournament. He's on a rhythm and he's going to come out firing. Fed is always a little vulnerable in the first few matches of a tournament so this will be interesting.

I don't know why everybody is so worried about this match. Gasquet is playing ROGER FEDERER AT WIMBLEDON.
Roger will spank his sorry a$s.
