My Crazy Classic Racquet Binge

It all started last week when I saw this attractive young woman on the next court playing with an old wood racquet. It turns out she was using a JK Autograph, the most popular racquet of all time. One week later, here's what I have acquired from the auction site, Craigs and Goodwill:

1 Arthur Ashe Competition
1 Rossignol F200
1 Pro Staff Classic 95 16x18

All are strung, not warped and playable. If it ever stops raining I will take them out and give 'em a hit. I've ordered grommets and a new Wilson leather grip for the PSC, which was naked (gripless) under one layer of Tournagrip.

I got to hit with all three today, what fun! I started with the Arthur Ashe. My very first shots were deep and solidly hit. Hitting the tiny sweet spot feels fantastic with the Ashe. Awesome racket. OHBH slices worked perfectly, no floaters or mishits. This racket is awesome! I didn't use it in the doubles match today because I knew I would make more errors with it, which would **** off my partner. I played with the same racket that won Wimbledon, and now resides in the Smithsonian, how cool is that?

Congrats! I love classic racquets - I've gotten about 10 more since this pic

Beautiful but you need to trash that blue POS racket in the picture, really sticks out like a rotten apple ;)

Love how this thread was inspired by an attractive young woman playing with a woody :)

Are those Prince Borons on floor? Seems odd that 90s racquets are classics.

Pro Staff Classics are from the 90s and they are considered classic. It even says so right on them. I'm thinking about adding a white PK Graphite Comp to the collection today, any thoughts?
