Original 6.0...I find that the RDX-500 MP is excellent on serves. I get as much kick as I did with my POG Mid (maybe a little more) and much more power. It may be the weight of the racquet but I can really get it moving on my serve...much more power than my POG mid!!! I really like the RD-7 but hated the MP-1 Tour 98 with a passion. Bought the Tour 98 based on opinions and reviews. Played with it for about a month and a half (had absolutely NO control) and then sold it. I think that's why it took me so long to try the RDX-500 MP because I thought it was the MP-1 with different cosmetics....boy was I wrong. The RDX-500 MP is fantastic from everywhere on the court. The RDX-500 MP plays similar to the RD-7 with less weight and a lot more maneuverability.

court_cents...Thanks!!!

AudioDude...AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN!!! I'm taking my POG mids out of my new YONEX bag and leaving them in the closet. Not even going to give myself the opportunity to pull them out of the bag and compare the two. I compared the two when I was demoing the RDX-500 series and it's NO contest...the RDX-500 MP is just better from everywhere on the court.

WELL, MY RACQUETS LEFT GREENSBORO, NC AT 7:26 PM TONIGHT (TUES). WHAT ARE THE CHANCES THAT IT WILL MAKE IT TO MY HOMETOWN [2 hours away], GET ON THE TRUCK, AND BE OUT FOR DELIVERY TOMORROW :)

I believe the HD stands for HORRIBLE and DETRIMENTAL...as in it's horrible to play with and detrimental to your game. Well, maybe it's not quite that bad but the difference between the HD and the regular Midplus is night and day.

To me, the HD felt A LOT stiffer than the 16x19. It didn't have that cushiony feel that the Midplus had, I didn't have near the control with the HD model, spin potential obviously decreased, and the drop off in power was pretty significant. Playing with them side by side I was really surprised that they are in the same "family." The Mid and Midplus had a soft (long dwell time on the strings) feel and the HD felt like a board.

hmm interesting. I just read the TW review on the HD and the testers were all over the control aspect of the racquet. It seem like 2 or 3 of them liked it better than the regular MP.

I noticed that too. I was expecting these two racquets (the HD and standard Midplus) to play similar based on reviews and comments but the HD just seemed a lot stiffer to me. It just never felt good hitting the ball with the HD whether I was serving, volleying, or just hitting groundstrokes. I think as a result of me worrying about how bad it was going to feel when I hit the ball I lost confidence in this racquet quickly. It just didn't have that sweet feel or control that the other two versions had.

They were strung at the same tension - 62 pounds with Wilson NXT Max 17g string.

Maybe that was the problem. Everything I read says that the HD should be strung at the lower end of tension 55-56 lbs or even lower.
