Nadal and Roddick rarely ever play against each other (only 1 time in a Slam)

Excluding Davis Cup where they've met twice, Nadal and Roddick have played against each other only 5 times and only once in a Slam (2004 US Open). In fact, they didn't play each other at all in 2005 OR 2006. Amazing how it's been FIVE YEARS since they played each other in a Grand Slam!

Anyone else think the Roddick/Nadal matchup would be really interesting to see? Imagine them playing each other at the US Open. The atmosphere would be really electric, especially if they met in the quarters (night match!).

It's funny how Federer has played each of them a million times yet they almost ever play each other!

What is the head to head?

Nadal beat him at Indian Wells I think this year. Roddick beat him at Dubai last year I'm pretty sure (also beat Djokovic).

It would be real fun to watch. They have very physical, close matches.

It's Nadal 5-2, with two of those wins coming in Davis Cup on clay. He even beat Roddick on grass at Queen's last year.

yea nadal roddick match up is rare and their styles dont clash nor work together well, neither of them have the advantage in match up it seems.

I think Nadal has the advantage. But the surface is a big part in who wins. Australian Open and French Open suit Nadal while Wimbledon and US Open suit Roddick.

Yup which is why it would be nice to see, kinda weird how they haven't met up, they are both consistent top players, but I guess Nadal only got amazing and consistent on hardcourts beginning last year, and Roddick hasn't done much on clay.

Slow surface = Nadal's advantage because his movement is superb
Fast surface = Roddick's advantage because his serve is sick
