as far as two handers go, i believe that nadal has the best 2 handed backhand. anyone agreee/disagree?

i wouldnt say the best...but it's definitely underrated. everyone only mentions how good his fh is...but his bh is pretty up there. i still prefer the safin and djokovic backhand.

I love his backhand, it's basically a super smooth two handed forehand for a righty becauses he uses his "non-dominate" hand so much (his right hand).

Agreed! Nadal's Backhand is very unrated. How many times have we seen him whipped his backhand with winners? Gazillion of time. Even on a dead run!

Nadal has master the art of 2 handed backhand. He does not only hit with power ; he is also great at using his 2BH like most 1BH do. He has excellent skills in Blocking, Punch, slice and drop shots. Superb ball control - like his fh.

I know the critics out there would argue with this claim. Nadal stroke and form may not looks as graceful as that with Safin or Nalbandian. However, he does have the results to back it up.

Yes, people do tend to forget that Nadal only plays left handed because his coaches thought that his backhand would benefit from a strong right hand too.

Wait for someone whose favorite player has a far inferior backhand to come in and ask if Nadal has won wimbledon yet with his backhand LOL

I disagree. He has an excellent BH, though. However, not the best.

Edit: Just re-read. You mean: in between 2 handers... Hummm, maybe.

I actually think that nadals backhand is better than his forehand... i dont really even like his forehand that much. another good 2 handed backhand is also baghdatis.

Nadal's backhand is pretty sick. It doesn't look as effortless as Safin's, but he can really rip the cover off of it from seemingly any position. Definitely one of the best in the game.

Well, I don't think Nadal has any one stroke that sticks out as special, though his backhand is very good. He has high consistency because of his topspin control, and that makes him a very tough opponent. He's like a backboard that sends the ball back to you faster than you hit it.

Btw, all his running shots are extraordinary. He will be number one within three years IF he stays healthy.

i rememver john Mcenroe was talking about Nadal's backhand and how its improved greatly over the past year or two

This is true, Nadal has the best backhand in tennis. Gasquet's would be the best if it were consistently as wonderful as it was against Roddick.

As for Safin and Nalbandian...no. Nadal's is better because he can hit it way better on the move than either of those guys. Safin's is great when he can set up for it, but watching Fed against Saf/Nadal, it was clear that Nadal had the better backhand because he can handle all of the wide shots that Mr Fed gives him.
Forehand-Fed
Backhand - Nadal
Serve-Roddick
