Nadal is the modern day Borg .....if you love Borg how can you not be a Nadal fan?

Yah so where are your pro Nadal posts?

And where's that damn list showing Rafa's numbers are ALL better than Fed's? Show me the money... Humm, pardon, the numbers!

Instead of clowning around with childish drawings! For someone who's been clamoring "Rafa is better than Fed", such a shame for not having that damn list but just a bunch of meaningless cartoons.

We can do cartoons all day long, KOT.

Winning consistently and remaining on top the way Fed has been doing requires...a lot more work. Simple to understand, really!

There is a difference between Borg and Nadal,

One is a great champion, the other a guy that has the worst personality ever but with the biggest fake media personality in the world.

wow the OP is so childish, this thread has good replies but i had to struggle passing through all the blah blah stuff.
anyway, while Nadal may have more clay titles, his boring power game style and character will never be better than Borg.
what a trippy thought.

Personality wise, they couldn't be more different. For example, Borg has a personality.

Borg said himself that Rafa is the best clay court player ever. He ought to know since he was the one who set the bar so high!

Borg was my first favorite player. I loved his game. He was always calm and cool on the court. I really appreciated that, especially in the era of Connors and McEnroe. He was like a machine and would get into endless rallies at the French Open. He could outlast anyone. His mental and physical strength was unreal.

But somehow it all broke down. I learned a lot watching the documentary: McEnroe/Borg: Fire and Ice. I never knew that he had all these rigid ways of doing things, like taking the same route to the tournament all the time, using the same chair and the same towels. He slept at the same temperature every night. But he seemed to just burn out.

I was devastated when he walked away from the game. I became a Lendl fan. But it was not the same. Not until I first saw Rafa play at the 2007 Wimbledon did I find my second favorite tennis player. He reminded me of Borg immediately. He was like the new generation, evolved version of Borg. It's been a crazy ride but I have loved every single minute of it.

They are both great and should be celebrated equally. But I think that Rafa has become the greatest clay court player ever by beating Borg's record of six titles at the French Open.

Everyone thinks so. It's undisputed outside of TW.

Thanks for the kind words. I registered here a while ago, but was never actively posting. As you said, tennistalk will be shutting down so it was time to find another forum. I will miss that little site. It's nice to know that there were people who read that site and appreciated the Rafa fans there.

I look forward to chatting with you and many others here.

Come to think of it Fed doesn't really dominate any of the big four ....

He has a losing record to Nadal

He has a losing record to Murray

He barely has a winning record against Joker ( I think it's 11-9?).....I think it's 11-9.

Clearly the competition is a lot stronger in the golden era.
