Relaxing Time​


Rafa watched the football match between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona in Madrid on Sunday night. He was accompanied by his father and sister Maribel, who are also Real Madrid fans. Rafa's favourite club Real Madrid won! They all enjoyed the match-winning goal. :giggle:

I'm just hoping he gets enough match practice in Madrid. He also needs to make up for his slowed speed with sharper shot selection. DeMinaur isn't that great on clay, Rafa has just been match-rusty.

Ikr. Dude looks a lot happier and calmer. As if he knows things are going to plan (he would know, hes done the whole peak at the right time 14 times!). As long as theres no setback. dude looks ready to win RG. Too far i know but idc im a fan and a human!

That alone should make any rational person pause and consider him a favorite even when he's playing on one foot....and he has.. and won.

Yeah he went from literally not knowing if he could play Barcelona until the day before, to practicing more, looking more confident and even announcing participation for Laver Cup.... something has changed with him for the better.

I just looked it up and don't know if this is accurate, but 'the internet' says Rafa's first match is this Thursday. Time to be announced.

Rafa had dinner at Dr.Angel Martin’s, his hair transplant doctor/surgeon, house in Madrid on Tuesday night.

Rafa has had a good relationship with Dr. Martin for years. Rafa has had dinner at the doctor’s house several times during many years. The doctor has watched Rafa's matches at the Madrid Masters and has visited Rafa’s academy.

Yeah even in the latest practice videos it's clear that serve is looking much better. A lot more power, accuracy and whole body movement in general :)

Award​


Rafa was presented with the 2022 COPE Premio Inolvidable (in English: Unforgettable) award. COPE is the second most listened to radio station in Spain.
The award was supposed to be handed over in 2023, but due to Rafa’s injuries it wasn’t delivered until yesterday. The award was designed by César Castaño, a Spanish iron craftsmen.

This morning's practice was shown on YouTube. When practicing his serve, he started slowly, then picked up the pace. Looking good for today. :)

He also signed a lot of autographs, and had a nice smile on his face. Very good.

So... in about an hour.
