Nadal to be all time great one can think

Well people, if it wasn't for the dirt dog Nadal like some haters called him...... The sport of tennis wouldn’t be as popular and interesting as it is today; in sport you need competition in order to compel people into acquiring a genuine interest and understanding of the game. Only fanboys and immature people could hate Nadal, he is a threat to Roger’s realm in every surface, because he has accomplished so much by age 21 people tend to attack him every time he fails.

With the rank of #2 comes high expectations but the truth is; the most dominant force in tennis today including Roger is Rafael Nadal when he plays on clay, his 81 match streak will never be broken and his bid for a 4 consecutive FO title will never be match. The way Rafa demoralizes opponents including Roger day in a day out is out of this world; Bjorn did it 25 years ago and now Nadal is rewriting history once again.

If I were to ask anybody what they would think of a player who wins 6-7 FO titles, 2-3 Wimbys and 1-2 AO/UO they will respond an all time great. People, Nadal does have the potential to accomplish just that, he might never win another GS for all I know but we can’t deny he does have the potential, the will and passion to end up his career as an all time great. We have to believe his camp is smart enough to realize they need to make changes in order to provide Rafa with the best opportunity to succeed.

Real tennis fans would never hate Rafael, we must be thankful we can watch him play.

Check out the latest issue of Sports Illustrated. There is big article about the clay monster and Federer and their rivalry. Both players speak very highly of each other. It is a great article. He is a hall of famer already, by an enormous margin to boot. He should win his 4th straight French open exactly 1 week past his 22nd birthday and then the heavens are going to open up for him. It will be very difficult to shake his conficence or his will and it will lead to better performances on other surfaces like grass.

Once the 4th French open is in the bag, he will have essentially 5-6 years to pocket another 3 titles at Roland Garros which will give him 7. Add 2-3 Wimbledon titles to that total and you have an all time great, and you have the greatest clay court player ever. Nothing wrong with that career.

There are, and have always been, lots of players with "potential." The ones who are remembered as all-time greats are those who actually achieve.

To date Nadal has never won a tournament on grass or progressed farther than the quarter finals at the Australian or US Opens. Winning three French Opens puts him in the category of a Kuerten, not that of a Borg, Lendl, Sampras or Federer.

Let's hold off on the coronation until your hero actually achieves the success of these players. Wishful thinking is not a substitute for actual achievement.

Hey people have different things on their mids. If he stys focused and stays hero for another decade, possible why not? Well Rios is well known, never won a gs. Muster, one year domination and hes a class act in my mind, he was nr one by some way that year .. Etc. He is in the nr2 section of GOats now but has enought time and space to go one level abovve.

I hate to say it but he probably only has about four years left in his career because he plays such a physical game that one injury will put him out.

Let's rewind to 2002 when Lleyton Hewitt was the same age as Nadal is now. Two grand slams, one on grass, one on hardcourt, youngest male to be world number 1 for 64 consecutive weeks. He also held a similar number of singles titles to his name (possibly one or two more than Nadal, though one less slam)

Will/Is Hewitt considered an all-time great? Probably not, and arguably he had the same potential and accomplishments as Nadal did at that age.

It's very premature to be calling Nadal 'to be the all time great one' with only 3 GS titles. When/if he gets 8-10 GS then we can start about his potential 'greatest'. Besides we're already spolit with Federer more than likely going to surpass Sampras' 14 GS titles in the next few years.

he has potential to win a lot of grand slams. he already has the french out of the way, and we know he can win wimbledon. australia shouldnt be a problem because its slower. he might struggle with u.s. because he plays too much and too hard for the first half of the year.
