Maybe family problem, or friend? More than likely if he's withdrawn it could be injury wise but he was fine yesterday no? I'm am worried. :(

The reason is "fatigue" according to this source:
http://tennisconnected.com/home/2010/11/05/nadal-withdraws-from-paris-masters/

"World No. 1 Rafael Nadal has withdrawn from the year’s final Masters 1000 event in Paris. The nine-time Grand Slam winner cited fatigue for his withdrawal. After a grueling Asian swing, which he took part in three events, Nadal will rejoin the ATP World Tour for the season Finale in London.
Nadal is assured the world No. 1 ranking this year.
The Paris Masters will feature Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, and Andy Murray.

The better thing to have done was skip Bangkok and Tokyo. But I guess he went there for the same reason Federer went to Stockholm.

perhaps he is taking this WTF thing more seriously than I thought

Very nice, let the tour chase him a bit like he chased federer all those years. I have been looking forward to this for a while. :) Vamos, :)

Great move by Rafa.

I remember him being booed when he retired in his match in 2008. He tried to please the crowd by starting the match instead of giving up before and they booed him.

They don't deserve to see Nadal after that. And that MS is quite useless and not prestigious.

Phew! when a player cites fatigue most of the time it's a lot of bullzhiz, they're just being cautious. Takes deep breath. I'm glad it wasn't something more serious.

See you soon Rafa :D

They should move the australian open to Paris and RG to australia! :)

What a cop out by Nadal, He knew he will have his ass kicked on the fast courts of paris so he takes a "break". No wonder Nadal didn't meet Federer on hard courts as much as he should have.

Anyways, he is only delaying the inevitable. He will get his ass kicked in London instead of paris.

Vamos Rafa! come back soon.

Actually it's still a bit suspicious. Why would he announce he was travelling there today and all of sudden cite fatigue? If you were too fatigued today you must've been yesterday too no?

Rafa tell the truth!:(

Is Xisca pregnant?

Sure is. I never got the impression he believed he could win there though. I remember in 2005 he said the surface was too fast but ended up skipping due to injury. In 06 and 07 he lost to Federer at his best. Skipped again in 08. and 09.. :(

LOL, no, I wasn't being sarcastic. I was being serious. Too much to be a coincidence, in my opinion.

I see, my sarcasm detector has been off the mark for quite some time now...

So we have to wait another 2 weeks for Rafa?

Oh well, after a year like he's had, tourneys like Paris seem insignificant.

I guess he wanted to step aside to let guys like Murray have their fun

Well more points for Federer then....Still very sad to see Rafa not play. He could have skipped those Asian Events and play in Paris where it matters!

The only tournament that matters in Paris is RG to be honest.

And tbh money matters more to these players. Didn't Nadal get like 2 mil just from playing those three tourneys? That's like winning 2 slams as far as the money is concerned, if I am not mistaken.
