Nalbandian

David Nalbandian is doing well at Heineken Open in Auckland. Beat Isner in straights yesterday and just beat Almagro in straights today to make the final. He's getting old but he's looking real good. Good to see him come back after injury.

Nalbandian will win the grand slam this year - you heard it here first! mark my words!

Nalbandian - fantastic player

He's got Hewitt in the first round of AO. BRUTAL!

That has to be the markee draw of the first round. Nalbandian has only just turned 29 (a little younger than Federer). He could turn out like Agassi (he is just a talented in my humble opinion) at peak at 29.

i get jacked up about nalby about this time every year but it never really seems to go far!

hewitt in the first round is brutal, agreed. whoever gets through will have been worked over.

it sucks for them but its nice for us tennis fans to see these 2 guys playing each other in the 1st round. of course, it'll also suck for us when the other one doesn't move on!

Only recent match was 2009

David won 7-6(3), 7-5. The match before that (which David also won) was in 2005.

So not much to go on recently.

Agassi didnt have major hip surgery before turning 29 and wasnt an iffy competitor who cant stay commited to fitness for even periods of time like Nalbandian. I also totally disagree with you on the talent part compared to Agassi, but you are entitled your opinion there.

We know you mean Nalbandian because he's one the past three encounters but remember there are two David(s) in this final :)

Two solid competitors! Can't wait!!

Nalbandian is one of my favorite players. I was just about to start a thread on him. I have been looking at his match against Fognini and his forehand looks to have improved. It looks sick...

Not fair for Yonex supporters as one of our guys will be out first round. Oh well, better than both of them out in the first round ;-)
